Please tell us why you voted the way you did. I will explain my vote in a day or so.

I voted the cross from...

Colossians 2:14-15 NKJV
having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. [15] Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

I was tempted to go with the resurrection, but that has more to do with the body, demons are spirits without bodies.

I said the physical return of Jesus on the white horse. Even though this would be 1,000 years to soon as Satan would be released at the end of the 1,000 year reign.....then, thrown into the lake of fire. Rev 20:10

Then again I supposed Satans last nail was his last "act" on earth.

What does last nail mean to you?

I voted the Garden of Eden. Here is why.

I was contemplating that expression this morning and began relating it to Satan and the eternal Covenant of Redemption. This covenant for those who may be unfamiliar with it is a covenant because it is between more than one party, eternal because it is a covenant with all three distinct persons of the Godhead, therefore (and according to Scripture)was in effect before the world was made, and in fact was the purpose of the world being made (at least in part).

What we see on every page of our Bible is the plan of redemption, which is also eternal and fully formed and immutable as God is immutable, being played out in time and throughout history.

Since that is the case, it was God's intention for Satan to be in the Garden, and for the serpent to deceive Eve, and Adam to fall. Satan existed already, and he could not do what he did without God's permission (as we see in the first chapters of Job). It was God's plan that through the redemption of fallen, sinful men, by the person and work of the Son, he (God) would ultimately destroy Satan and the death and corruption he brought into creation through men, once and forever. In any case, that is how I see it given the final result. The glory and wisdom and perfection of it all is mind boggling.

So the last nail in the serpents coffin imo was when Adam took a bite of that fruit and God cursed the serpent and drove in the nail. "The seed of the woman will crush your head, and you will bruise his heel." Everything in between that event and Rev 20:10 "and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. 14. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the else of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire."; everything between Gen 3:15 and this, is the last nail in Satan's coffin being carried out in time, across the vast expanse of history. He was doomed to be destroyed. What is given in the above scripture is Satan's death knell.

If the serpent had not tempted Eve, ate, and gave to Adam who ate, there would have been no last nail. And Christ would not have come as one of us to destroy him.

I have no problem with that if you consider the last nail the last act Satan did prior to being judged.

Then again maybe Satans first nail was his last.

This is how I consider it the last nail.

The minute he set the Covenant of Redemption into forward motion he was doomed to be destroyed forever. (Why he wasn't before that, no one can say. And why God did it the way he did, no one can say. But the evidence within the scriptures suggests that he did choose to do things exactly as he did them. Since we know that God is perfect and all his ways are perfect, we have to leave it as being perfect). What God says will happen, WILL happen. So when Satan was given permission to deceive and throw all of humanity into death and sin and corruption, and the creation along with him, he quite possible thought "This time, I can win." just as he thought he could with Job, and actually was certain he could fight with God and win, with the whole human race as his army, and become God.

That is why I checked every box—because I had no way of voting "none of the above." For me, the covenant of redemption was the final nail in Satan's coffin. Once God has determined to set something in motion, there is no other way it can go.

From the perspective of the creaturely serpent, and within time, I consider the action the serpent took to be the "nail" that sealed his eventually losing all power and being thrown into the lake of fire. The serpent thought it was his victory over God when he through God's image bearers into rebellion against God, but it was the means of his own destruction.

The rebellion of Adam and Eve that was part of the plan of the Covenant of Redemption, did not exist in time until it was done in time. Since a nail being driven into a coffin exists as an action in time, my question relates to the temporal not the eternal.
