Re self-determining but failed
I don’t know why but many people seem to miss the thing in these discussions which is truly an issue: that instead of actions or behavior , the main concern is a race identity.
You may know of someone like I do, who is against a race. They have a terrible time referring to specific actions that are poor decisions, and complain of the race.
This can be done for the race too, so that the race is immune from criticism. No matter what. It is really the same problem in two forms.
Everyone has a racial identity. We don't consider having a racial identity to be bad.
Scottish people have a racial identity and a history that is pretty cool, Arabs have a racial identity and a history, Jewish people have a racial identity and a history.
Recognizing our respective cultures, even having some amount of pride in who you are as a people isn't bad.
That what things like the Olympics are about, x country pits their best athletes against x countries best athletes to see who's the best country... Lol.
It's just silliness but it's fun, and you get to have a moment of happiness for your own people.
Having countries with multiple races where all the races are equals in that society is a distinctly modern invention, and is a direct result of influence from the Christian faith.
Go to Saudi Arabia and see how many white Christian Europeans are allowed to immigrate there and have the same right as everyone else.. including the right to proselytize their faith and dress the way they would like.
Having a single society with all races having the same rights is still not universal everywhere, just here, and it exists because our faith does. It will leave when our faith does too, because it's not mans natural state.
When we talk about racism and bigotry, it's when people want to kill everyone - or otherwise look down upon those of - certain ethnic group(s) because they think the ethnic group is not as evolved, or are in some way a lower life form - not just a people from a different culture.
We are made to recognize God in each other .. not to hide what God made to be or otherwise stomp on ethnicities.
It's cool to learn not just about other people groups, but about your own people group as well. This is what God made. And we all have our own beauty and there's no wrong in living around ones own racial and faith groups in community together. That's the way most of the world operates. God's not opposed.
Do we think it's odd to go to a wedding and see the wedding between people from the same ethnic group? No... It's normal. What's abnormal is people from different ethnicities having enough faith and culture in common to live together and even intermary
That's brand new, and doesn't work unless the people share enough in common.
