'Just believe your Bible' is way to general. It does not show whether we might be aware of what matters of what he is trying to say. It's like trying to chisel a sculpture with a backhoe. A thesis statement is very particular, but a single concise thought.

Here is a Lewis' thesis statement: "'Developmentalism (evolution) is made to look plausible by a trick, a slur of speech."
