Postmillennialism

I'm a hybrid.

I believe the Postmil position the gospel will be victorious here and now and so too will the Church. I believe God intends to fulfill the Dominion or Cultural Mandate and the Great Commission (the latter of which may already be fulfilled). I, therefore, have Dominionist leanings, but am not a Reconstructionist (though I am theonomist). I believe Jesus comes many times in many ways for many reasons, but he will come a final time to conclude this portion of history. I don't, therefore, tend to use the language of "Second Coming," unless that is the topic being discussed. The term does not exist in the Bible.

In terms of theological arguments on eschatology, though, I believe the Amillennialists exegete scripture the best. I don't agree with all their conclusions, but generally speaking they are much better exegetes. Comparatively, the Amils and Postmils together, trounce the Premils in this regard.

`Im Amil here.

I'm still trying to figure out what's worse, Post Mills or Dispensationalists. Haha. Sorry, couldn't help myself.

@SovereignGrace
To quote a dear pastor friend... "I'm so "pre" I won't even go to the Post Office". Sorry, Sov.

I am an online "friend" with Sye Ten Bruggancate and adore James White ( although I think he's Post simply to hang out with his Grand-Daughter ) if that helps.

Does that include a pretribulation rapture?

I see the NT as locating the rapture with the final coming of Jesus in judgment (2 Th 1:6-10, 2 Th 2:1-8), and
I see the NT as teaching that there will be no appearance of Jesus until that coming in judgment (Ac 3:2, Heb 9:28).

Any postmills on here?
What about those of us sufficiently clueless about the arguments that the terms mean nothing without a definition?

postmil = Post Millennial = After The Millennium ... Yes, I believe that we will continue to exist after 1000 years.

(... but I bet that wasn't the question.) ;)

Then we see things differently. And that's ok.
