For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.
And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
In the Bible, reigning is exercising authority over others to do good or evil to them. It is not mere influence among peers, nor is it having spiritual effect alone.
But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
Jesus proclaims His service is not by having reign over others in this life. Even as He did not first come to reign, but to serve.
And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
The Lord rebukes the carnal vision of His ministry on earth, as having reign over others, whether great or little.
Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
Once again, reigning as lords over others in this life, especially over one another, is condemned by God. Since we are not reigning over one another within the churches, we cannot possibly be reigning over others without.
Bible reigning is exercising authority over the lives of others. It is not ministering help to others by good example, without personal power to enforce it.
