For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.

And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.

In the Bible, reigning is exercising authority over others to do good or evil to them. It is not mere influence among peers, nor is it having spiritual effect alone.

But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Jesus proclaims His service is not by having reign over others in this life. Even as He did not first come to reign, but to serve.

And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.

And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.

The Lord rebukes the carnal vision of His ministry on earth, as having reign over others, whether great or little.

Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.

Once again, reigning as lords over others in this life, especially over one another, is condemned by God. Since we are not reigning over one another within the churches, we cannot possibly be reigning over others without.

Bible reigning is exercising authority over the lives of others. It is not ministering help to others by good example, without personal power to enforce it.

Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us:

Paul in 1 Cor 4 is not commending Christians as reigning in this life. He is rebuking and warning the puffed up Christians, who set themselves up as reigning in Corinth. And doing so while despising the lack of reign by the apostles, and especially Paul.

Christians acting like they are reigning on earth, do so without the apostles.

And I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.

Paul plainly shows he is not reigning with anyone as a Christian nor apostle on earth. Therefore, Paul is speaking of the future reigning of resurrected saints over nations of the earth. He would to God that it was indeed now, that he might also now reign with them.

And he that is overcoming, and keeping my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.

There is no reigning exercise of authority by any Christian saint, until after serving Christ unto the end of this life.

Present reigning of Christian servants on earth is forbidden and rebuked by the Lord. Such vain thoughts and imagination of reigning now, also makes one puffed up against others as being greater than any other on earth. And it is only promised by prophecy through resurrection of the dead unto life.

But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Here is the only example in the gospels of a servant of the Lord on earth, that believes and behaves as one reigning and exercising authority over others.

Notice, he is one that does not wait for the Lord to come again and reign on earth with His resurrected saints. And so he takes upon himself his own reign, and begins to mock the Lord's service on earth by usurping lordship over others.

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

And so, we see the common manner of Christians prophecying their own reigning on earth today, with them that do not believe in the Lord's coming with power to exercise authority over all nations on earth.

For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

They instead mock the Lord's millennium government upon the earth, as nothing but a symbolic fable. And in their own proud imaginations, they take unto themselves a spirit-reign today in the air, that has no authority exercised on solid ground.

And since most of them are self-confessed unrepented unrighteous sinners, then no doubt if they did reign with power upon the earth, they too would begin to beat upon others, that do not agree with and obey them.

But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

The Lord personally reigns only over them that are crucified to sin for His sake.

All that reign today in the own lives and over others, are the Lord's enemies that refuse His reigning over them.

Christians that reign today still crucify the Lord unto themselves.

Today, the Lord is longsuffering in mercy with space to repent of their rebellion on earth. When He comes again to inherit all nations, He will then rule to execute immediate authority over all them that refuse His reign over all the earth.

Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.

And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?

Jesus came as the Lamb of God in the flesh, not as any king nor judge exercising authority over anyone on earth.

When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

When they came to try and make Him king, He evaded it.

And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Pilate's mockery of Jesus as king, is not Scripture confirming Jesus was ruling as king.

Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.

Neither Scripture nor Jesus ever said He was a king on earth. It was a lying accusation of His enemies, that He ever said He was a king. (They also lied about Him saying He would destroy and rebuild their temple in three days.)

Teaching Jesus was a king on earth reiging and ruling over men, are saying what Jesus never said. And teaching the Scripture says so, is agreeing with His accusers of Jesus saying so.

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

Jesus' kingship and authority to exercise power over men on earth, is exactly what He laid down when coming in the flesh as the Lamb of God.

And laying down His kingly authority is exactly why He was rejected of His own, who were demanding He come as King of Israel to exercise His authority over all the earth.

Teaching He was the reigning king come in the flesh, is agreeing with His rejectors, that He should have first come as a king, and not as a servant.

The only Christ to come in the flesh as king reigning over the earth, will be the last antichrist coming in his own name, authority, and power from Satan, not from the Lord most high.

I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
