2 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. 3 So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation. Genesis 2:1-3.

Anyone notice there is no conclusion to the seventh day? No evening and morning?

I think we may still be in the seventh day.

Thoughts?

Creation was over hence the evening and morning was left out. Those had to do with the 6 days of creation.

Do we have 24 hour sunlight for 6000 years or do we have days/nights for 6000 years or how ever long you believe it was since creation was finished ?

Still, no closure to day 7? Do you think we are in day 7? Maybe day 8?

@ReverendRV

Your thoughts?

Your assuming days were 24 hours?

Though there are I believe 4 different meanings to the word Yom.

I say we're still in the Seventh Day of Sabbath Rest. It's a Type of stopping Working, and living by Grace Alone. The Seventh Day is a Type for the Monergistic New Covenant...
Interesting read from Ray Stedman. @Carbon

I tend to think we are in the 7th day also. Some say we are in day 8.

Either way, it would mean more than 24 hours in a day. But I believe day stands for a period of time.

I will give it a read, I'm inspired to study back into the age of the earth, once again. Thanks

We're Resting in God's Work...
These are the generations
of the heavens and the earth when they were created,
in the day that the Lord God made the
earth and the heavens. Gen 2:4. This passage shows a period, as day is used.

I added to my post give it a read. :)
If you believe the 7th day came to a conclusion, from silence of course. Do you believe we could be in the 8th day?

no 6000 plus years times 365 days Somewhere around 2,190,000th day:)

Another question. Did anyone ever wonder what was going on, on Earth outside the Garden?

Keeping in mind Adam was created outside the garden. God placed him in the garden. So there had to be life outside the garden also.

Thus says the Lord:
“Heaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool;
what is the house that you would build for me,
and what is the place of my rest?

Isaiah 66:1

Rest when used in the Bible in reference to God, is not like we think of rest. It is not putting your feet up and relaxing, maybe with a nice cup of tea. It is talking about God's rule. Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool; what is the house (temple) that you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest (God's rule). In Genesis 2:1-3 we see God has completed His work and has taken up His sovereign rule, which of course continues today.

I like this. Our Sabbath rest should be about stoppping reliance on ourselves (our own work) and trusting (or resting) in God's sovereign care and provision.

Off the top of my head ( as I vaguely remember pondering this in a sleep deprived fugue ) is that creation was done. There is a lot of stuff that God does/did/insert time word that wasn't directly creating stuff. Of course that examination was due to someone thinking that God got tired... :rolleyes:

Heb 3:7-4:13 presents "another" Sabbath rest for the people of God than the one of the OT.

It is the NT Sabbath salvation rest in Jesus Christ, from our works to save, and in his work which saves to the uttermost.
