Does anybody here wish to engage in evangelism? And this does not explicitly or implicitly exclude apologetics. No serious Christian can pretend that evangelism and apologetics must be kept separate.

Hi Greg. I'm new here, but I'm also an oldtimer. I write Gospel Tracts, so Evangelizing is what I do...

9th of Av ~ by ReverendRV * January 2

Numbers 13:33 AKJV
; And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight

God delivered Israel from slavery out of Egypt and lead them to the Promised Land. Moses sent 12 spies to investigate the Land and bring back a report. Ten of the Spies brought back a bad report and only two brought back a good report. After all God had done for them, they were still afraid! Jewish tradition says that because of the bad report, that day is cursed. ~ Throughout history, several bad things happened to Israel on that Calendar Date. On the Ninth of Av, the Crusades began and ten thousand Jews were killed. The Jews were expelled from England, later from France, and even later from Spain. World War I began on the Ninth of Av and also the Holocaust began on this date. You object, “The Jews have been around so long that many things are bound to happen to them on the same day”. That’s a good point, but there are more events which occurred on this date that I’ll speak on later; for now let’s talk about our curse…

Would you say that you’re a pretty good person, that your good outweighs your bad? The Bible says that all who rely on good Deeds are under a Curse; if all of your deeds aren’t good. ~ Have you ever told a Lie? What do you call those who tell Lies? Some of your Deeds are bad. Have you ever stolen? What do you call those who steal? Have you always honored your parents? Have they ever had to punish you? It’s a shame that you’ll be punished again, because God has an interest in your behavior too. These are just three of the Ten Commandments, if God judged you by them would you be innocent or guilty? Would you go to Heaven or to Hell? Does this bother you?? ~ You don’t have to go because of a Good Report…

The Gospel is called ‘the Good News’! ~ For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal Life. Jesus Christ is God Incarnate and he lived a Sinless life so that he could Mediate a New Covenant with God and represent us on Judgement Day. He was also able to take the punishment which we deserved by shedding his blood on a Cross. But because Representatives are alive, he rose up from the grave to newness of Life! We’re Saved by Grace through Faith in the Resurrected Savior Jesus Christ, without meritorious Works lest we should boast. Repent of your Sins, Confess Jesus Christ as your Lord God and join your local Protestant Church. ~ The Jews have suffered on other days, but something makes the Ninth of Av Significant; the destruction of their Temple. Is the Ninth of Av more significant to you now? No?? How about BOTH of their Temples being destroyed on a Ninth of Av? If you kicked an anthill this year AND kicked it next year, would you find it interesting when you noticed you kicked them on the same date? ~ Read the report for yourself…

Matthew 24:2 NLT; But he responded, "Do you see all these buildings? I tell you the truth, they will be completely demolished. Not one stone will be left on top of another!"

I will begin with the very first time the gospel was preached. If you are truly as familiar with Scripture as you claim, then you will know well the account of the fall in Gen 3 so I will not reiterate in order to save space.

This is the first preaching of the gospel: Gen 3:14-15
The Lord God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, cursed are you above all livestock and above all beasts of the field; on your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall crush your head, and you shall bruise his heel."

In verses 16-19 we see why the entire world including us mankind is subject to death and travail.

From the point of the first promise made that a man born of woman would come and destroy that "serpent of old who is the devil and Satan (Rev 20:2) the entire Bible is the historic account if this promised redemption moving progressively towards its goal. Here is the goal and the sure promise.

Rev 21: 1-8

21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.

5And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6 And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. 7 The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. 8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
Meet Abraham:
Gen 15:6 And he believed the Lord and he counted it to him as righteousness.
The connection of Abraham to the gospel preached in Gen 3:
Romans 4:13,16 That is why it depends on faith, in order that te promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his offspring---not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham.
13. For the promise to Abrahan and his offspring that he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.

Promise of a Savior born of woman fulfilled:
Matt 1:20-23

But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet:

23“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall call his name Immanuel”
(which means, God with us).

Jesus' mission announced:

Matt 1:21 She will bear a son and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.
OT prophecy of Jesus and how he would save:

Is 53:4-6
Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows,
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions.
he was crushed for our iniquities.
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed.

10-11
Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him;
he has put him to grief, when his soul makes an offering for guilt,
he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days;
the will of the lord shall prosper in his hand.
Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be
satisfied;
by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant,
make many to be accounted righteous,
and he shall bear their iniquities.

Fulfilled in Christ: (Matt 27:27-31) and
45Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

John 19:30

When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

How this good news becomes our greatest treasure:

John 3:18

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Just as it was for Abraham and has always been. Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness. We are not saved by our own righteousness but by the righteousness of Christ who bore our sins substituting his life for ours and took the punishment we deserve. What manner of love is this!

John 3:36 whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life but the wrath of God remains on him.

John 5:24 "Truly, truly, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, He does not come into judgement but has passed from death to life.

Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your doing; it is the gift of God.

I have no intention of continuing such unconscionably stupid trifles with fools who reserve the right to arbitrarily decide what portions of my posted arguments should remain and which should be altered by something else or removed. And I further accuse the same fools of unfairly selective enforcement of the rules. Certain members treated me like absolute dogshit and nothing was done. I haven't treated anybody with anywhere near such contempt, and yet this Atheist at a Calvinist forum has his posts routinely edited or removed by idiot moderators whose purpose is not discovery of scholarly error, but doing whatever they can possibly think of to make Calvinists feel better about remaining Calvinist. I'm not going to cast my pearls before you swine, and I shake the dust from my feet.
Greg, I recommend taking breaks; instead of quitting...
