Did God accept the Old Testament sacrifices?

The sacrifices for the Law became hypocrisy.
For they were sacrificing their children in their worship of Moloch.
https://www.chabad.org/parshah/arti...-Tragic-History-of-Molech-Child-Sacrifice.htm
The hypocrisy was doubled, for it was a practice among the wealthy to adopt a child to act as a surrogate for their biological child and to offer their adopted surrogate in place of their biological child to the fires of Moloch.

Yet we in America have offered more babies on the alter of Planned Parenthood than Moloch ever claimed. If God is still God, how must His anger burn at our terrible offering?

If those child sacrifices today were being performed today by his own church? Not unbelievers. Like God's people of Israel were doing?
Then God's anger would burn as a Father has for his children who are rebellious and disobedient.

On the other hand...

Unbelievers themselves can do nothing to please God. That is why God may leave godless people alone many times. Yet?
Unbelievers can be made by God to behave themselves according to God's restraint. Restraint which depends upon the faithfulness
of His people in that land. That restraint is caused by what Jesus referred to as "Salt of the earth." That is what could have saved Sodom
if ten righteous were found. Only Ten .. Not a vast majority!

If the church over all in a given nation is being faithful to grow in God's Word and grace? There will be found by God salt.
That "salt" will command God's national blessings on their land. Even unbelievers can even find themselves happy as a people.

In contrast, if too much of the church fails, and seeks evil. They make themselves useless to God. They feed on only weak or false teachings.
Never growing spiritually.

In doing so... They fail to produce being "Salt of the Earth." In that event. Jesus said that nation will be destroyed because of unfaithful believers who fail to produce salt... Not because of immoral unbelievers.

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt should become-tasteless, with what will it be salted?
It’s good for nothing except to be thrown away and trampled underfoot of men.." Matthew 5:13

Salt was used as a preservative by the ancients. Also, salt was used to produce good taste.
Having a strong element of believers in a nation acted as God's 'preservative' for that nation's national blessings.

If the corporate church within a given nation fails to produce enough salt? That nation begins to decay.
Because of that decay, God will refuse to continue blessing the land.

If a nation's failing church people do not get back by repenting and grow in doctrinal truth and grace?
And, insists upon settling for only their own church dogma and tradition? Then Jesus said that their national blessings
will be withdrawn. That nation is to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by mere men.

Since judgment of a nation begins with God's people? (1 Peter 4:17). (not because bad behaving unbelievers who can not please God)
If only ten righteous were to be found as in Sodom? God would cause that nation recover to remain in spite of all the bad unbelievers...

If enough believers in their nation repented and became mature in sound teaching? Repented and dropped their pet doctrines and dogmas
that divides the church of God? And, if enough believers endure in taking in more and more sound doctrine to reach maturity?
Then God could bless that nation in such a way that would surprise us all......

If, such a Word of God revival were to take place? Victory once again will be found and will bring us through the present attempt
to bring us down!

Amen!

Israel was founded by God as a Holy Nation and from the start ran towards apostasy. Thus in the OT God’s anger burned against the NATION because of the pledge of its founders and the deeds of its “unsaved” people.

The United States has claims to being founded as a Nation under God. Philadelphia … Plymouth … born from claims to being a Land of God for a People of God. The words of the founding fathers echo the spirit of Moses in dedicating the Promised Land. Thus the NATION seems liable to the same judgement, as a NATION, for our apostate unbelievers as those apostate unbelievers that brought judgement on Israel as a nation.

Polls indicate that the CHURCH in America is not far behind the World in its position on issues such as abortion. The sacredness of life is not a universal belief even within the Church

First of all. It does not matter what the world thinks...
What matters is how many of who are born again know what God thinks.

Not believers all will. For not all have an affinity for sound doctrine.
Instead.. they play games with God.

2 Timothy 4:3 tells us....
For the time will come when they will not put up with sound doctrine.
Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great
number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

The Amplified Bible states it like this....

For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction
[that challenges them with God’s truth]; but wanting to have their ears tickled [with something pleasing],
they will accumulate for themselves [many] teachers [one after another, chosen] to satisfy their own desires
and to support the errors they hold."

To sit under someone capable of teaching sound doctrine in the beginning days can be painful, because the one teaching is giving you
what is needed to be understood first before God can remove your pain. The pain remains until you have learned what God required for
you to understand. Its like a single person waiting for the right one in loneliness and not running off and having an affair to seek pleasure
to attempt to escape the pain.

That is why it says....
"For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction."
"For the time will come when they will not put up with sound doctrine."

Like I said above, the sacrifices were instituted immediately after the Israelites sinned... by offering sacrifices to another god. I think it's a bit like when a dog pees in the house and you rub his nose in it. God is saying, "Bad Israel! Bad!"

They are meant to reflect on the nature of their sin and be convicted, but instead...
Exodus ends with the glory of God descending on the tent of meeting and with the problem of no one being able to draw close while Leviticus begins with God calling out instructions for how to draw close to Him, and that is what the root word for "corban" means. So Leviticus has nothing to do with being like rubbing a dog's nose in it, but rather it is God teaching how to draw close to Him. If someone were to offering sacrifices while neglecting to draw close to God, then they would be missing the whole point, which is why David emphasized the importance of first having a broken and contrite heart, then God will accept the offerings.

Boy we sure see things differently.

As I see it, the Israelites NEVER managed to draw close to God. They put Moses in the middle, and then lated added a whole organized priesthood as an extra buffer between God and themselves. And they weren't wrong... this preserved their lives. God wanted multiple times to strike them down for their sins and just start over. That buffer saved them.

But draw close? No, they kept doing things to make God angry - the Golden Calf incident, the manna and quail issue, the bitter waters at Marah, the problem with Moabite women, the battle at Ai, the treaty with the Gibeonites... I could keep going.
