Numbers 23:19a God is not human
Jesus is a human.
Jesus is God.

There are apparent contradictions in the Bible:

Did God promise there would be no contradictions?

No, not on the many copies of manuscripts written by human beings.

Why do I still believe the Bible since there are contradictions?

Human languages are inherently ambiguous, and ambiguity can be the source of contradictions. Perspectives can also cause contradictions. In any case, I believe all Scripture is GOD-BREATHED.

Perhaps you would first post the formal orthodox definition of the doctrine of inerrancy so 1) Everyone knows what is the standard and 2) everyone knows you know what you're talking about.

Yes, but not as an explicit statement, The necessary lack of contradiction is implicit in His being a God of truth, reason, and perfection. However, if you have a god who is capable of contradiction then I would like to read more about that god.

The doctrine of inerrancy does not deny human error. It denies divine error. HUGE difference.
