We all know that we die because of sin, we get sick because of sin, and we age because of sin.

Question?

Jesus was holy, pure and sinless.
So, why did he age?

Because he was like us in All ways...

Or more specifically, like the Unfallen Adam...

If Adam hadn't Fallen, Jesus would have been like an Unfallen Cain; and grown...

He was like us in all ways but no sin. Therefore he should not age. So why did he? And think about it, the Second Person of the Trinity. So much more than unfallen Adam. This is God we are talking about.

I have an idea but I’ll wait.?

He would have been like us, and grown. The same as if Adam hadn't Fell, then an Unfallen Nimrod would have grown from his Infancy...

What's your idea?

I assume "we age" means our bodies deteriorate (as opposed to time)

I suppose because Christ was the son of man which meant He had human characteristics. It is a given that He died even though holy and pure so seems to be no limitation to His getting older. .... hmmm, perhaps getting older was part of the price He had to pay as was death. There was the advantage of going in wisdom with age and strength. End of my guesses for now.

Aside: If there was not death till Adam sinned ... does that mean his blood cells did not die?
Aside2: I think these answers are in 3 Corinthians (wink)

But God don’t age.
Christ is God with a divine and human nature. The human nature is a creation and ages and gets weary and is not all knowing and is not invisible like God or omnipresent, etc.

I suppose. We age, feel older, heal slower, look older and…….. 🤔

But the hypostatic union is 100% man and 100% God. Not a mixture so he would age.

But we can’t split his natures. He is the God man. Completely holy and sinless. If the human nature ages and gets weary. Why?
Because of sin.

But Jesus had no sin.

@ReverendRV

How do you know Adam would have aged if he didn’t sin?
Because Humans Age...

Let's switch to people we know are Elect. If Adam hadn't Fallen, the Elect Jacob would have had to be born. This means he would have grown from Infancy to Manhood. Likewise, since an Unfallen Jacob would grow, an Unfallen Adam would have grown. We probably couldn't have seen Adam Age, but he would have. Adam would have grown in Wisdom...

I agree that Christ is 100% God, but I would say He is not 100% divine in nature. Proof is easy... Christ died and the divine cannot die. Many other proofs to show Christ not 100% divine in nature.

Well according to scripture the only reason we age and die is because of sin. Only reason we age is because we are naturally headed for death.
Where does it teach Adam would have died if he didn’t sin? Adam was already full grown

@Carbon & @ReverendRV & @fastfredy0

Since Jesus had existed before His incarnation as the God men had seen in the O.T., then His prophetic fulfillment as the coming Son of man was for the purpose of giving His life as a ransom for many and so aging with the rest of us would take place as if Adam & Eve had not sinned and had babies too for when they would mature to adult. So why not Christ also as the sinless Son of Man?

They're gonna get you...

I disagree. Christ is 100% divine.

But we can’t split his natures.
We MUST split natures; otherwise, God's divine nature undergoes changes which contradicts immutability.

He is the God man. Completely holy and sinless.
Agreed, with two natures.

If the human nature ages and gets weary. Why?
Because of sin.
Maybe... I gave my guesses. Aging is good in some ways....that's how Christ's human nature grew in wisdom and knowledge.

Right, Adam wouldn't have died; but he would have grown. God designed Man to grow...

I have a saying; "If you ain't growing, something's wrong"...

If Adam never Fell, and Shem never grew out of Infancy in a Perfect world; something would have been wrong...

So what's your idea Brother?

If Jesus naturally aged then wouldn't that contradict immutability? Jesus is God, therefore he cannot age. Unless…….
