The only "Water" that is holy is when the Bible speaks of the Holy Spirit using liquid imagery (John 7:37-39; Acts 10:45; etc.).

Incense makes me think of Holy Water.
Why?

Because of the German pre-fix Weih-

Look here:

Weihrauch = holy smoke = incense
Weihwasser = holy water
Weihnachten = holy night = Christmas
Weihenstephaner = beer from Weihenstephan = Saint Stephan in Bavaria

Jesus never said to resort to that for casting out devils.

Matthew 17:18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. 19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? 20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. 21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
I see prayer as submitting to God the task and fasting is denying you have any part in it. Jesus Christ will cast them out.

John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

We may even need His help to believe that if anyone has doubts in those perilous moment.

Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. 25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

now 3 of 7 say:

"Holy Water is Catholic".

There is nothing 'holy' about water ..... nothing 'holy' about statues or paintings
besides this, the RCC has MUCH MUCH bigger problems

.....

Other water was blessed for the use of the faithful as a means of warding off the unclean spirit and as a safeguard against sickness and disease. In the course of time, this blessed, or holy, water was used as a reminder of baptism by the faithful on entering the church and by the celebrant in sprinkling the congregation before certain Sunday masses. In Eastern Orthodoxy, holy water is commonly imbibed by the faithful after it has been blessed.

"as a safeguard against sickness and disease" ... I wonder, does it work better than the covid (clot) shot?

Is that the "dialogue" here now?
Constant fanatical and hateful attacks on anybody of a different belief?

Monro, how long have you been here now? You should know this is not a RC forum. But again, you and all RC's are welcome. But do not expect everyone to agree with you, and when many do not, stop accusing of hateful attacks. Realize there is enmity there. Against you personally, I have no issue; but about the church you attend and defend, I do have an issue.

So, this is not a RC hate site, my mom was a RC, and I was raised one. I thank God I am no longer one. Discuss your beliefs here, dont expect everyone to agree, if you believe someone is being hateful to you, please report it and it will be dealt with.

You misunderstand me. Completely.

I do NOT expect anybody to agree with me.

I is the STYLE in which some write that I am talking of.

Not the contents.

Okay. If that is the case and it really is disturbing, please report it.

Thanks. :)
