This view hinges on the logical question: if there is no life (no evolutionary force) on distant places or even on earth before Day 3, what difference does more time before Day 1 make?
The date then becomes a question of either Centauri’s starlight is enough to signal night from say. That’s 4 years. I think not, that there must be more starlight to do so. Either way a mass lifeless energy release before Day 1 is sensible.
But biological life is on Day 3 and clearly designed and placed.
