It's good to see some friends here from another forum - Rella, RB, Andia, and Buff so far. Thank you, Rella, for alerting me to this new forum, and am looking forward to sharing fruitful discussions here too with everyone, as often as I am able.

Though I have been a believer for 50 plus years, it has only been in the last twelve years when I have plunged into a deeper study of God's word than I ever had before in my life. However, any effort to be a Berean comes with a cost, which has required my having to jettison many of the things which I had been taught from childhood and from various pulpits I have sat under. Fellowship online with the family of faith is a real blessing for me, since I have had to withdraw membership from a SB church which had been home for 16 years, and where my spouse still attends.

I share similarities with those holding Reformed views on this site; with those who post concerning mutual submission in the church and the home; also with those holding Preterist views, and those recognizing an ancient, "recycled" planet with an almost 6,000-year-old population living on it. With such an eclectic blend of views, it isn't likely that I will find a local church home that I could settle into, but online fellowship is something which I can cherish just as well.

Hi there, and welcome to the forums. You and I have quite a few things in common, belief-wise.

Glad to be here, DS, thank you. I believe in cats too, as evidenced by my avatar. Four felines in residence that graciously allow me to share their domain.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Well, well, look who is here! Welcome~ I'm sure we will a few things to say to each other, the Lord willing. Especially so in the Eschatology section~since you are from the Preterist camp, and myself being a idealist Amill, where folks with a sound mind are found!;) Still love you. RB

Btw, 3 Resurrections, just be respectful to your elders since I'm about ten years older than you if I remember correctly. Am getting old, but still have a little life in me. I told 4WD about this place, maybe he has already joined, not sure. I saw where a person named Jim did, so maybe he did.

Welcome 3R...so glad your are here. :D And looking forward to a few debate exchanges as time permits.

Welcome 3R. Looking forward to you5r posts.

Well, nobody's perfect. 😁
Cats are definitely an acquired taste. Not for the faint of heart. But even more than the sheep to which Christ compared us, I believe cats are representative of humanity's fallen disposition. Territorial. Demanding. Self-centered. Sneaky. Antagonistic to many of their own species. Finicky and dismissive of what is offered to them, and often cruel to their prey.

But if patience prevails, the hard-won purr of a cat who becomes loyal to you is a reward that is beyond that of a dog, who is already hard-wired to please you. Not much of a challenge from that quarter. I rather prefer a challenge. And it would appear that God does too.

So glad you still feel up to posting, my friend, for however long God gives you strength. "Thus far the Lord has led us on, thus far His power prolongs our days", as the hymn says. (Really love some of those old hymns.)

No, thank you, sister Rella...you are very persuasive :). And I'll be sure to check into the politics forum for your contributions. Since Rush has passed on, Rella is a good substitute for keeping me informed of political happenings while I keep my nose to the workroom grindstone.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Hi there, and thank you for the warm welcome. I can practically hear the Australian accent as I read what you write.

Welcome 3R. Looking forward to you5r posts.
Thank you, and I'll do my best to honor everyone who takes the time to contribute to the forum. For now, it feels rather like the closer fellowship with a "small group" at church where everyone can be a bit more open than in a mega-church environment.
