Jn 6:44

44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

No man can come here means no man has the ability to come to Christ. That cancels out the myth that man has a freewill,

It also means that no man has the ability to believe on Christ for Salvation. Because Christ equates believing on Him with coming to Him. Jn 6:64-65

64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

What about those Jesus says to them Jn 5:40

40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

Thats answered in Jn 6:44 they simply will not come because they cannot come unless the Power of God draws them and makes them willing

Ps 110:3

3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

If and when one comes to believe on Christ willingly, the credit goes to Gods Power !

No man can come to Christ by his own freewill ability because by nature hes dead in trespasses and sins and without spiritual life and ability to do or act. So consequently he cant come and believe on Christ of himself, or of his own freewill.

There is also John 6:65...And he said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.”

According to Jesus words here can a man by his own freewill ability come to Christ ? Jn 6:65

65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

I would say no.

At best God has to act first. We don't choose Christ Jesus....God chooses us to "choose" Jesus.

Or, could it be that by God's foreknowledge, he knows we will choose Jesus and helps us to get there.

I doubt it.

Salvation isn't based upon happenstance.
no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:

Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me

Man by nature cant by his own freewill ability come to Christ because all men by nature are spiritually dead in [in the sphere of] trespasses and sins. Speaking of Gods elect Paul writes of them by nature Eph 2:1-3

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

2
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

The word dead here nekros means:

adj: dead, lifeless, subject to death, mortal, (b) noun: a dead body, a corpse.

The lifeless here by nature is lifeless spiritually. Spiritually to God and things of God man naturally is liken to a dead lifeless corpse.

Jesus used this same word here Matt 8:22

But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

Now the dead was to bury the dead. The Spiritually dead person was to bury the physically dead person. Yet the Spiritually dead person wasn't dead physically was he ? Did you know that one can be dead, lifeless and yet be physically live and active ?

Now in order for a man to come to Christ he must first have life, no not physical life but spiritual life which not even the elect have by nature. 2

The man or women who comes to Christ, doesn't come by their own freewill ability, because naturally man is spiritually dead and without any spiritual life and ability. However when the Father draws one to Christ, He begins by giving them life, spiritual life. The drawing indicates life has been given.

See coming denotes motion and motion denotes living'

The word draw denotes to impel to impart motion to, which motion is life, spiritual life

So my belief was already decided before the Holy Spirit was hovering over the waters?

Does that mean I will not lose eternity in heaven by any means?

I do have faith. Far greater than a mustard seed.

I knew where I was headed in grade school, and it has continued to grow. Especially after each of the 3 major answered prayers in my life.

Even when my life style was not exactly as it should be. I knew. Except for a very dark, very brief time in my life and then God got my head turned the right direction again.

Yet, I do hurt for those who had faith once, a growing faith, and turned from it. Family, friends,

Do you ever wonder about those jail house converts, like Johnny Cash.... who were for the most part bad people until they heard the truth in jail? Do you believe they were real, or is a cover of sorts for some reason?

Or, could it be that by God's foreknowledge, he knows we will choose Jesus and helps us to get there.
Foreknowledge (prognosis) is used only of God foreknowing what he is going to do, not of what man is going to do, and he knows what he is going to do because he has decreed that he shall do it.
no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

Johnny Cash never did prison time.

Johnny Cash never did prison time.
Huh. I did not know that because people used to talk about it all the time.

Well, what about Karla Faye Tucker?
