The German philosopher attempted to delete God from thinking, not by a direct hit so much as this: 'if a person tries to give me proof of God, I will be inclined to believe in Him even less.'
A new believer should know that God welcomes the pursuit of truth. You will find this as a subtext in most of the Bible's passages that are narrative--accounts of events (as opposed to those which are didactic or teaching related doctrine).
There is some theology out there that has decided to cave to Nietzsche and 'believe' in God apart from proof and evidence. It is quite foreign to the Bible, even though all the language might be used.
