Hi everyone,

introducing myself. I am 70 years old, married 48 years, 4 married children, 16 grandchildren, a long time Bible student, pretty much 5 Solas, but unconventional is some doctrinal areas.

Not a Calvinist, Provisionist, Armenian, Universalist or Catholic. I don’t trust theologians who “make stuff up” and try to force the texts to support their ideas, require involved, intricate and complex reasonings, deal with philosophy vs the Bible or stray/contradict explicit Bible texts. I was taught “Don’t believe me - believe your Bible.“ That goes for anything I post as well.

I am involved in several writing projects, one of which involves some Calvinist doctrinal distinctives, and I am looking to make sure I understand the particular doctrines and represent them fairly.

welcome and all the best

MCS, Regent College Vancouver, thesis on Christian creative work in relation to C. Alexander's artistry of building; also 1 yr research toward a thesis on Luke-Acts and the Jewish war.

Welcome to the forum.

I extend an invitation to you to join in on this thread;

The Message Lost in Translation?

You are free to comment or not to comment.

Thank you in advance for at least checking out my concern on this issue.

Thank you for the invitation. I am focused on the Covenant of Works at the moment, and my plate is full.

Okay.

FYI I almost missed this reply from you. Usually the notifications works when you reply to a post with a quote from the member you are replying from in your reply so as to alert that member you are replying to.

Sometimes it doesn't always work, it seems. Not sure why.

Anyway, I understand and I leave His ministry to Him.

The Lord be willing, you may find yourself led back to that thread to see what He would lead you to share. If not, that is okay as Jesus is Lord.

Thank you for replying. Have a blessed day in the Lord.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Greetings Guy,

You and I have some things almost alike~married for around 55 years, with four married children and 18 grandchildren.

Welcome to the forum, I'm on three of them a plus Reddit, so I'm very busy which I like.
I was taught “Don’t believe me - believe your Bible.“ That goes for anything I post as well.
Same here. I have found that forum poster are very independent as to what they believe, or else they would not be on them. Overall, there are some very good people on them seeking truth and sharing their understanding that God has given to them, something that is not welcome in most churches.
