Where does it say only what they write is authorized?
[We are forbidden to contact the dead Apostles via spiritualists and mediums].

Show us the Super8 home movies and the cassette recording of the unwritten words of the Apostles hidden in the Vatican attic ... if authenticated, those are perfectly valid! The key issue for us 'Bible Thumpers' is APOSTOLIC words vs later human words. Right now, we only have the PRINTED words (until the Pope releases the Home Movies they have hidden somewhere). ;)

Some apostles wrote nothing, did they not have any authority? Where does it say only what they write is authorized?
How do you miss the point so well?

You ignore why what was said, and leap to a new shiny object...

Do you really think you are going to convert us to your Catholicism that way?

Try posting the passage. The Word of God is beautiful. Why do you hide it in a closet?

Here! Ezekiel 36:25-27

I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws."

Water baptism never does that. Water baptism is only a ritual at best.

The words of the mouth are deep waters, but the fountain of wisdom is a rushing stream." Proverbs 18:4

Its not about baptism!

Here....

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,"
Ephesians 5:25-26

The water of the Word is what cleanses our soul.
All the father say baptismal regeneration or water baptism
Even say no one is saved apart from water baptism

Don... Are you are referring to the priests in your Catholic church when you say, "All the father?"

Was the thief on the cross who believed in Jesus not saved? He was not water baptized.

What makes you think that Christians who study and understand the Word of God would convert to your traditions of men?
Do you do what you do out of some sense of duty to a cause?

Not called to be successful only faithful! Amen!

Not called to be successful only faithful! Amen!

To be faithful to *truth* in accuracy, makes one successful!

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?
Run in such a way as to get the prize."
1 Cor 9:24

To only be faithful to some system of man-made religious concepts? That only makes one feel good if one has approbation lust,
seeking the approval of other humans in the same sect he identifies with.

The early church fathers!
1) How do you know if he was baptized or not?
2) baptism is a new covenant requirement Mk 16:16 and it’s not in effect until the death of Christ heb 9:16-17
Thanks

How much detail is needed for water baptism?

John prepared the way by “water baptism”!
Jesus says “water baptism” Mk 16:16 Jn 3:5 apostles say “water baptism” acts 2:38-39 acts 22:16 1 pet 3:20-21 God says “water baptism” ez 36:25-27
Jn 3:22 they immediately went to the river (water) and they baptized!

Thanks

Peter had this to say about those who were to follow after him...

Just as there were false prophets who arose among the people, so
there will be false teachers among you. They will introduce their
disruptive views and even deny the very Master who redeemed them,
thus bringing swift destruction on themselves." 2 Peter 2:1

Now look at one of the beauties your church thumbed its nose at, and insists upon doing it anyway!

But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ because one is your teacher, and you
are all brothers, And do not call anyone your father on earth, for one is
your heavenly Father. And do not be called teachers, because one is your
teacher, the Christ. " Matthew 23:8-10

Come on now. Let's hear the typical rationalizations that your church pushes upon its unsuspecting subjects.

God could not make it any simpler for you to see the errors of your church......

Its so simple. Even an unbeliever could see it.

............. no excuses.

We have no “tradition of men” that’s the Protestant sects and new doctrine we are of the one true church founded by Christ on Peter and the apostolic tradition that they heard from the mouth of Christ
Thanks

Did the Muslims who flew into the World Trade Center have "faith?"

Do you know the difference between "faith" and "brainwashed"?

Why are you here?

What are you going to prove?

To make up better excuse as to why you call your church leaders "Father?"

“But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers.
And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.
Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah.. Mat 23:8-10

Do you know how that makes you look?

"And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven."

Should we listen to you and take you seriously?

Ok ... come on now with the rationales that allow you to end up doing exactly what Jesus forbade us to do.

.....do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’

period.

Is it ok for God to call men fathers?

Or Jesus, or Mary, or the apostles, or the faithful? Or scripture? Or the woman at the well in Jn 4:20?

The people Peter was talking about are heretics like the Albigensian’s.

Don’t guess there’s too many of them on here, so not knowingly violating the rules.

Titus 3:5 baptismal regeneration
1 pet 1:2 washed in Christ’s blood
1 pet 2:9 the kingdom of light
1 pet 3:20-21 baptism saves us!

“Faith alone” accomplishes nothing!
1 cor 13:2 even all faith (alone) without charity avails NOTHING!!!

Faith and baptism!

Scripture says none of the things about “Faith alone”!

Only James 2:24 a man is justified by works and not by “faith alone”

2 Peter 1:11
For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The Christian sacrament of baptism is the Initiation into the new covenant and must be ministered to you by the apostles!

If not faith and baptism then it must be “faith alone”! Not

“Faith alone” Questions

where does ez 36: 25:27 Say “faith alone”?

where does scripture says we have died with Christ by “faith alone”?

Where does it say we are sealed by faith alone?

Rom 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

where does scripture say we are members of Christ and his church by “faith alone”?

1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

where does scripture says we put on Christ by “faith alone”?

Galatians 3:27
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Where does scripture say our sins are washed away by “faith alone”?

Acts 22:16
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

where does scripture say we are saved or justified by “faith alone”?

1 pet 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us!

The only reference in scripture to “faith alone” is James 2:24 NOT BY “FAITH ALONE”?

2 pet 1: 11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

How can you enter by your own if it must be ministered to you? Baptism is done unto you, “not do it yourself by faith alone”

Ministered by the apostolic church!

2 Corinthians 8:19
And not that only, but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind:

Jn 3:5 born again by faith alone?

Where is “Accept Christ as your personal lord & savior” is found in scripture?

They did not go preaching this line but went immediately to the river and baptized Jn 3:22

Acts 22:16
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Galatians 3:27
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Eph 4:5 one baptism

Why don’t it say one teeny tiny little act of “faith alone”???

When we first believed we are saved?

Romans 13:11
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

How can salvation be nearer than when we first believed if you’re saved by believing?

1 pet 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Matt 24:13 endures to the end Shall be saved.

How can salvation happen when we first believed if it’s the end?

If salvation is by “faith alone” then faith would be the greatest!
1 cor 13:13 charity is the greatest!

Even all faith much less “faith alone” without charity avails nothing!
1 cor 13:2

The early Catholic Church fathers say faith and baptism!

Eph 5:24 the church is subject to Christ and has always taught and practiced “baptismal regeneration” and never “faith alone” if anyone says we are justified by “faith alone” let them be anathema! (condemned)
Keep your Catholic proselytizing in the Catholic section. You bring it into every thread. It is disruptive and diverts from the OP topic. You have been warned. And when you put it forth support your premise and expound on the portions of scriptures you use.

Get back on the topic of the thread.

Naming just one ain't good enough. And, one that came many centuries after Peter said to his congregation that the false teachers would be found in their number. You did not catch that, did you?

"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you,
who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon
themselves swift destruction."
1 Peter 2:1

Peter spoke of Peter's successors!

Want to buy your salvation?

But, good news! Indulgences have now been adjusted for inflation.

To obey Jude 1:3 contend for the faith!

Why are Protestant leaders called doctor then? Doctor Luther call no man teacher!

Matt 23:9
Call no man father? Jesus is condemning pride and spiritual pride of the Pharisees?

Or is this absolute?

God calls men father!

Ex 3:6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

Jesus calls men father!

Jn 6:49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

Mary calls men father!

Lk 1:55 As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

Peter calls men father!

Acts 3:13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

Acts 3:22 Moses said unto the fathers…

The stephen calls men father!

Acts 7 Stephen quotes the fathers over and over!

The Bible calls men father!

Luke 16:24
And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

Acts 3:13
The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

Jn 4:20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

Jesus does not rebuke her for calling men father!

Then there is spiritual fathers!

Spiritual Fathers have care for our souls!

Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Jn 21:17 feed my sheep:

Heb 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they care for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

1 Tim 1:2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

Gal 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you

1 Tim 5:1 Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father…

1 John 2
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.

That makes Peter, Paul and John spiritual fathers, pastors of our souls!

Fundamentalism is faith without reason!

Luther was right......

You are proving it.

Thank God for Luther's courage to face the insanity.
