17 Iron sharpeneth iron;
So a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Proverbs 27:17.
First, true believers saved by God and His Christ are likened to 'iron.'
Without going into the periodic table and science sources there are some things that in this verse I understand.
First, when iron strikes iron there is a FORCE involved. Through the contact there is SOUND. There is also HEAT and FRICTION.
And there is also MOULDING of these two metals when such natural contact is made.
Iron cannot sharpen clay. ONE MUST BE IRON in order to be SHARPENED by his/her FRIEND.
Knowing this and my place in the Body of Christ and my spiritual gifts I want others to know that I am IRON.
And if you are IRON too, then there will be sharpening.
