I chose God..Or God chose me...

God by His grace draws us to Himself, opens up our eyes to see the truth and we respond :)
Not very detailed and saying much. So, I guess I can say, welcome back to Calvinism?

Assuming you mean what scripture teaches, perhaps Lydia is an example.

Thanks :)

God chose you first by His grace and you responded by choosing to believe in the gospel for your salvation. :)
Nope, I did not choose to be birthed in the Spirit...and God even drew me to Jesus and also to believe in Jesus.

You are welcome to voice your opinion, which you have just done....you were not there, when I was birthed in the Spirit...that was just your opinion.😉...no one can birth themselves into the Spirit....that is a supernatural act that only God can do......we must be Born Again.....that is a mind blowing act, that God does through the Holy Spirit, he his the one who testifies with our spirit that God exists..as he’s indwelling us, ...that is my testimony 100%....he’s the one who opens our hearts , perfect timing.........how else would one know they are Born Again.

oh I'm not arguing for or against your experience. :) I was just saying that Jesus calls man to follow Him, to choose to deny themselves, take up their cross daily and follow Him. Its the call to discipleship, obedience to Him. That is a matter of the will, the mind, the heat, the soul. The first command to obey- to love the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind , soul and strength. Jesus said this is the greatest commandment and to love your neighbor as you do yourself. On these two rest all the law/commands. Its an act of the will. :)

Amen! This is after regeneration, of course. :)

God chose the nation of Israel, the Jews to obey follow and obey Him yet they failed. God choosing doesn't equate to following Him. They disobeyed Him and followed after foreign gods. That was an act of their wills to disobey Him. Their hearts turned towards the false gods of the other nations. So just because God chooses a person and they are "elect" just like Israel does not mean a person is saved.

So were they regenerated in the O.T. or not ?

One must be Born Again for God to recognise us as his children...we can’t follow the Lord, not until we have been birthed in the Spirit, that’s also biblical.

see my other post on Gods chosen/elect people :)

Brother, it’s biblical...we must be birthed first, before we can follow Jesus....I’ve made my point ,so I will leave it at that,🙏
were the Jews regenerated, Gods chosen and elect people Israel ?

No offense brother. But, who wants to go back and look? This post is IA (In action) so its good to repost something here, causes less confusion.

But I am impressed with you :) coming back to the reformed faith? ;)

You do have a good sense of humor brother. :)

I’m talking about now, Jesus had to die, before we could be birthed permanently in the Holy Spirit...the Holy Spirit permanently indwells his children....

I’m not talking Old Testament..that doesn’t apply to a Born Again.

So no one in the OT was regenerated ?

So no one in the OT was regenerated ?
They weren’t permanently indwelled, how could they be?

God couldn’t indwell them as he is/ was can he?

That’s why he sent Jesus....you understand that right?

God chose the Jews to bring his salvation through Christ.
God chose the nation of Israel,
For what I just stated.
the Jews to obey follow and obey Him yet they failed.
Because not all the Jews of national Israel are spiritual Jews.
God choosing doesn't equate to following Him. They disobeyed Him and followed after foreign gods.
I think you can see why by what I wrote. Though God does keep a remnant.
That was an act of their wills to disobey Him.
Of course.
Their hearts turned towards the false gods of the other nations. So just because God chooses a person and they are "elect" just like Israel does not mean a person is saved.
If they are elect (not talking about the nation of Israel), they will be saved. Or, it would be God who fails.
So were they regenerated in the O.T. or not ?
Of course. Even dispensationalists believe that.

Sister, you're on the right track. Everyone who is saved or was saved we saved the exact same way. OT or NT.
