I believe God the Father Christ’s bridesmaid the new church in the Bible calls the virtuous woman the bride-to-be.What do you think God`s purposes are for making the nations, for Israel and for the Body of Christ?
Please give scriptural references.
I don`t see any scriptures for the church being bridesmaids or bride?I believe God the Father Christ’s bridesmaid the new church in the Bible calls the virtuous woman the bride-to-be.
When the tribulation begins and the tribulation ends, God will restore Israel back to a new state that is a mystery we don't know, yet but it will be the new Jerusalem.
In the Book of Ezekiel in the Hebrew Bible, New Jerusalem is Ezekiel's prophetic vision of a city centered on the rebuilt Holy Temple, the Third Temple, to be established in Jerusalem, which would be the capital of the Messianic Kingdom, the meeting place of the twelve tribes of Israel, during the Messianic era.
Christ will have his bridesmaid in the new church, and the new church will restore Israel.

Thank you for all those good scriptures concerning Israel`s connecting to their Messiah. You see the Body of Christ was NOT revealed at that time.greetings
I have searched and put this together about those who may attend
The Great Banquet Feast is the chosen one the bridegroom.
Matthew 25:1-13 (NKJV) "Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
And at midnight a cry was heard: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!'
Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.
And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.'
But the wise answered, saying, 'No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.'
And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.
Afterward, the other virgins came also, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!'
But he answered and said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.'
Watch, therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.
Luke 14:16-24 (NKJV) "A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, 'Come, for all things are now ready.' But they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said to him, 'I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.' And another said, 'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.' Still another said, 'I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.' So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.' And the servant said, 'Master, it is done as you commanded, and still there is room.' Then the master said to the servant, 'Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. For I say to you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper.' "
Matt 22:2-14 (NKJV) "The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; they were not willing to come. Again, he sent out other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, "See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding." ' But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business. And the rest seized his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them. But when the king heard about it, he was furious. And he sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.' So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests. But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. So he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?' And he was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' For many are called, but few are chosen."
Rev 19:1-10 (NKJV) After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, "Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her." Again they said, "Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!" And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, "Amen! Alleluia!" Then a voice came from the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!" And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thundering, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." And to her, it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!' " And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God." And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
Matt 20:20-28 (NKJV) Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Him with her sons, kneeling down and asking something from Him. And He said to her, "What do you wish?" She said to Him, "Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom." But Jesus answered and said, "You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" They said to Him, "We are able."
So He said to them, "You will indeed drink My cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared by My Father." And when the ten heard it, they were greatly displeased with the two brothers. But Jesus called them to Himself and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave-- just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."
Luke 14:7-14 (NKJV) So He told a parable to those who were invited when He noted how they chose the best places, saying to them: "When you are invited by anyone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in the best place, lest one more honorable than you be invited by him; and he who invited you and him come and say to you, 'Give place to this man,' and then you begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes he may say to you, 'Friend, go up higher.' Then you will have glory in the presence of those who sit at the table with you. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted." Then He also said to him who invited Him, "When you give a dinner or a supper, do not ask your friends, your brothers, your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. And you will be blessed because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just."
Thank you Eleanor for your view of the 3 purposes of God.The nations are the result of the Tower of Babel.
Israel (beginning with Abraham) is for demonstration of election, and to receive the revelation of God's purpose and plan, and the method of accomplishing them.
The body of Christ, the bride of the Lamb, is God's purpose of the plan; i.e., to prepare a bride for his Son.
Hi civic,Ephesians 5
21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her26 to make her holy, cleansing[b] her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body. 31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”[c] 32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
Revelation 19:7,8
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready…
You're right, not symbolically, but in spiritual reality.Thank you Eleanor for your view of the 3 purposes of God.
1. The nations were as result of the tower of Babel, however I believe from God`s word that God had made the nations prior to that from Noah and his sons and grandsons. The tower incident merely scattered them and gave them different languages.
`And He (God) has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation. ` (Acts 17: 26)
2. I agree Israel has a special place in God`s purposes, as you said to receive the revelation of God`s purpose and plan and method of accomplishing them, (in regards, to the nations and Israel but not the Body of Christ).
3. The Body of Christ is not symbolically the bride. You would need scriptures for you view, thank you.
Good we agree there. However, the OT and B/C are not one group. We all receive of Christ but do not have the same purpose. You're right, not symbolically, but actually.
The church (the one olive tree of OT and NT believers, Ro 11:15-23) is the bride of Christ, his body (Eph 5:23) in the two-in-one enfleshment of the marital union (Eph 5:29-32).
The symbol is the New Jerusalem, the bride of the Lamb, in Rev 21:9-27.
The parallels between a husband and wife with Christ and the church are all over that chapter.Hi civic,
Thank you for replying, you may like to consider -
Eph. 5: 21 - 25 is an exhortation for husbands to love their wives. It does NOT say that the Body of Christ, the New Man is now a woman.
Rev. 19: 7 - 8 refers to Israel which is symbolically the wife. `For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is His name.` (Isa. 54: 5)
In authoritative NT apostolic teaching, there is only one body of Christ, God's people of both the OT and NT, whose purpose is to be the bride of Christ.Good we agree there. However, the OT and B/C are not one group. We all receive of Christ but do not have the same purpose.
Eph. 5: 23 is an exhortation for husbands to love their wives it is not that the Body of Christ, the New Man is now a woman. (Eph. 2: 15, 4 :13, 24)
The NJ is for the OT saints, for it is they who looked for a city. (Heb. 11: 16)
You would have to give scriptures for that view.In authoritative NT apostolic teaching, there is only one body of Christ, God's people of both the OT and NT, whose purpose is to be the bride of Christ.
All of time is for the purpose of the glory of the Father through the glory of the Son in preparing a bride who will reign with him in glory for all eternity.
The understanding you present is not in agreement with authoritative NT apostolic teaching.
The church (ekklesia in the dessert, Ac 7:38) began with Abraham - Gal 3:7, 8, 16, 29, Ro 4:11, 16, (17 - NT believers are part of the one olive tree). You would have to give scriptures for that view.
Hi Eleanor,The church (ekklesia in the dessert, Ac 7:38) began with Abraham - Gal 3:7, 8, 16, 29, Ro 4:11, 16, (17 - NT believers are part of the one olive tree).
The NT church is the continuation and fulfillment of the OT church:
1) believers are now reigning with Christ in his kingdom - Eph 2:6
2) the church is the promised kingdom - Lk 1:32-33, Mt 12:28, Jn 18:36, Lk 17:20-21, Ac 20:25, Jas 2:5
3) the church (kingdom) has been taken from Israel and give to the Gentiles - Mt 21:43, 8:12, Lk 13:28
4) the NT church is the New Jerusalem, the holy city (cf Eze 48), Mt. Zion, the holy mountain (cf Mic 4, Ps 68:16, Isa 2:2-3) - Heb 12:22, Rev 21:2
5) the promise to Israel (OT church, Ac 7:38) of a new covenant is fulfilled in the NT church (Jer 31:31-34, Heb 8:8-13, Lk 22:20)
6) the NT church is the true Israel (Gal 6:16) and the true circumcision (Jew) - Ro 2:28-29, Php 3:3
7) the NT church is the new chosen people, royal priesthood, holy nation - 1 Pe 2:98)
8) the NT church is the new Temple of God (cf 2 Chr 7:16, Eze 40-47)
9) by the cross, the spirits of the OT deceased believers are made perfect (justified, redemption completed) together with us in the NT church - Heb 1:39-40, 12:22-23, Eph 2:16-18
There is only one people of God, the church, which includes both OT and NT believers:
1) Eph 3:6 - Gentiles are heirs of the promises with Israel, members of one body (the olive tree of Ro 11:16-17), sharers together in the promise to Abraham through Christ Jesus (Gal 3:29, 2 Co 1:20)
2) Jn 10:16 - there is only one flock and one shepherd
3) Rev 21:9-14 - Israel is included in the Bride of the Lamb, the New Jerusalem
4) Ro 11:23 - Israel's future, if they do not persist in unbelief, is to be grafted back into its own olive tree, the NT church
(The roots of this one and only tree of the people of God are the patriarchs--the first fruits, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,
the trunk of the tree is Christ who proceeds from the roots, and the branches are Israel and the NT church.
The branch of Israel was cut off that the branch of the NT church might be grafted into the one trunk (Christ). And if they believe,
Israel will be grated back into the trunk with the NT church, making one, and only one, tree of all time, the church, the people, kingdom of God.)
God' single purpose for all time and history is the church, to prepare her as a bride for his only Son, who bought her with his blood:
1) Eph 1:9-10, Php 4:19, Col 1:16 - God's purpose is to bring all things in creation under one head, Christ; to sum up all things (promises, blessings, provision, graces, etc.) in Christ
2) 2 Co 1:20 - all the promises of God, no matter what they are, are contained and fulfilled in Christ; God has shut up all promises in Christ just as he has shut up all men in sin (Ro 3:19, 11:32)
3) Col 1:18, Rev 22:13 - that in all things Christ may have the supremacy
4) Eph 1:22, 5:23 - Christ is head over (governs) everything for the sake of the church (cf Mic 5; see Pr 13:22, 21:18, Eccl 2:26)
5) Eph 2:6 - the church is seated in the heavenly realms
6) Eph 3:3-6 - the NT church is the mystery which was hidden in the riddles (Nu 12:-8) of OT prophecies (Ge 22:18, Isa 42:6, Jer 31:31-34, Am 9:11-12, Hos 1:6-10, 2:23; see Gal 3:8, Lk 2:32, Heb 8:6-13, 10:16, Ac 15:13-18, 1 Pe 2:10, Ro 9:24-25), but is now revealed; i.e., the Gentiles are now included with the Jews in God's one olive tree, the church, whose roots are the OT patriarchs--Ro 11:16
7) Col 1:24, 1 Co 12:27, Eph 1:11-14 - the church is the body of Christ, none of his elect are outside it
8) Eph 5:25-27, 31-32, Rev 19:7-8 - the church is the bride of Christ
9) Mt 21:43, Ro 14:17-18, Ac 8:12, 28:23 - the church is the kingdom of God
10) Eph 1:23 - the church is the fullness (completion) of Christ, for Christ is King, and he must have a kingdom, within our hearts (Lk 17:20-21, Jn 18:36), Christ is bridegroom, and he must have a bride
11) Eph 5:25, Ac 20:28, Ro 4:24-25 - Christ died for the church
12) Jn 17:9, 2, 6, 24, 6:37, 39, 10:29 - Christ's sacrifice was not for those whom the Father did not give him; i.e., those outside his body the church, just as the sacrifices of the OT were not offered for those outside the people of God
13) Rev 22:14-15 - all those "outside" the church (the New Jerusalem) are condemned
God has no other plan on earth than his church, and God has revealed no other plan for his church:
1) 2 Co 5:17, Gal 6:15 - the church is God's new creation (exceeding his original creation)
2) Eph 3:10-11 - the church is the showcase of God's wisdom
3) Rev 21:9-11 - the church is the crown jewel of God's universe
4) Eph 1:18 (Dt 7:6, 32:9) - the church is God's own personal eternal inheritance, treasure, portion
5) 1 Co 10:11 - the church is the fulfillment of the ages, there is no other age after the church
6) 1 Pe 1:20, Heb 1;2, 9:26 - the churh is the last times ad the end of the ages
When the church, his bride, has been prepared and is ready to be presented to the Bridegroom, he will come for her, and the curtain of time and history will come down, the end will come, time will be no more, and the Ruler from Bethlehem (Mic 5;2) will hand over the kingdom (the church) to God the Father ( Co 15:24, 28).
You'e welcome (your sincerity motivated me), and take your time, there is an awful lot of meat there.Hi Eleanor,
That sure is a lot of work there. Thank you. I will go and read and look up your scriptures.
However, the meaning of ekklesia is simply called-out ones, the phrase "from the nations" is not in the word.Hi Eleanor,
I have only just done a few of your points and thought I`d give you opportunity to respond before I go on to your other points.
The Church/ Israel (ekklesia) in the desert (Acts 7: 38) - called out ones from the Nations, (Gk. Ekklesia) began with Abraham. (Gen. 12: 1 – 3)
The Church/Body of Christ.
Gal. 3: 7 - `children of Abraham` Gk. `huios` immediate or figuratively kinship.
Gal. 3: 8 - blessing to all nations.
Gal. 3: 16 – promise of his Seed – Christ.
Gal. 3: 29 – we are of Abraham`s seed -Christ.
But is nevertheless the born again of the Holy Spirit.TRUTH – the Body of Christ are born of incorruptible seed (1 Peter 1: 23) not human seed.
Through Christ - `bringing many sons to glory.` (Heb. 2: 10)
I don't no take my doctrine from private interpretation of prophetic riddles not clearly spoken (Nu 12:8) and subject to more than one interpretation.1.Reigning with Christ. `sit together in heavenly places. `(Eph. 2: 6)
Christ`s kingdom/rulership – overall. (Eph. 1: 10) `all things in Christ both of which are in heaven and which are on earth.` (Eph. 1: 10)
2.Promised kingdom/rulership – `To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with me on my throne. ` (Rev. 3: 21)
Authoritative NT apostolic teaching is that the kingdom of God is now (Lk 11:20),`I (Father) have set my King on Mount Zion.` (Ps. 2: 6)
`you have come to mount Zion…to God….to Jesus.` (Heb. 12: 22 – 24)
TRUTH - The promised rulership (kingdom) for the Body of Christ is in the highest heaven on Mount Zion, where the Lord has His seat of power and authority over all God`s great kingdom.
We have no NT Biblical authorization for Christ saying anything to the church from heaven.Lk 1:32-33 – `throne of His father David.` This is just the earthly throne not the heavenly one.
Mt 12:28 – `kingdom/rule of God` not God`s great kingdom encompassing highest heaven down to earth.
Jn 18:36 - `My kingdom/rule is not of this world` Indicating that no one on earth appointed Him as King only the Father in heaven.
Lk 17:20-21 - `the kingdom/rule of God is within you.` To all who obey. (Israel & the B/C)
Ac 20:25 - `preaching the kingdom/rule of God.` A truth we all need to know. (Israel & B/C)
Jas 2:5 - `kingdom promised to those who love Him.` Israel & Body of Christ.
Note: You are mixing what the Lord said to His people while He was on earth and what He is saying to His Body while He is in heaven.
You are making Christ's revelation of his spiritual kingdom, within the hearts where he reigns and rules (Lk 17:20-21), into an external visible physical kingdom/rulership, nowhere presented in authoritative NT apostolic teaching.3) ERROR - the church (kingdom) has been taken from Israel and give to the Gentiles –
Mt 21:43 - `rulership (kingdom) taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it.` The rulership over the nations on earth is promised to Israel. The rulership was taken from the generation that lived when Christ was manifested on earth. It will be given to the nation of Israel that the Lord reveals Himself to. (Zech. 12: 7 – 10)
In addition to not taking my doctrine from private interpretation of prophetic riddles not clearly spoken (Nu 12:8), NT apostolic teaching does not present the kingdom of God as material, physical but as spiritual, invisible and within (Lk 17:20-21).Note: the Body of Christ is not an earthly nation but called out of the nations. Plus, the B/C will rule with the Lord from His throne in heaven. (Rev. 3: 21
I don' think presenting any further responses regarding my post is needed.8:12 - `the sons of the kingdom/rulership will be cast out.` That generation the Lord spoke to when He was on earth.
Lk 13:28 - `They will come from the east, and the west, from the north and the south, and sit down in the kingdom/rule of God.` This is on the earth. The Body of Christ is ruling in heaven.
