Genesis Chapter One To Chapter 2:3 Is A prologue Or Summary

When we receive the understanding that Genesis 1:2:3 is a prologue we will receive a different perspective on what day Adam is still in and his need for a Savior and to come into the seventh day of creation.

Now, starting at Genesis 2:4 is an account and it is an ongoing account of when God created the heavens and the earth.

Gen 2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens.

Here is another account and there are many more!

Gen 5:1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

Gen 5:2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

Adam was not a finished creation on the first day but rather on the last day when all of humanity is reconciled to God in Christ image which is the express image of God and it is a spiritual image not a natural image.

How can Adam be in God's true image and be complete if he is not in Christ and the outworking of Jesus atonement making him spiritual complete in God?

Adam needed a Savior even before he transgressed God's law and if Adam was perfect Adam would not have sinned because what God creates perfect stays perfect!

What is perfect does not break down and what is perfect does not need a Savior.

It is illogical to state that Adam was created perfect then became imperfect.

It is illogical to teach that Adam was perfect in the garden of Eden and then fell and thus his need for a Savior because if Adam was perfect and failed then if Christ makes him perfect then he could fall again and Jesus atonement would be meaningless and a mockery!

Thus, Adam is not yet complete because he is not yet complete in Christ but is being perfected as Gpd makes new spiritual creations of humanity quickened out of death. However, Adam is not yet perfect and he is still in the sixth Day.

Here is the proof:

On the Seventh Day God rested from his works and sanctified his finished work.

Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Now, God is still at work as Father and the Son. The Father is still working and Jesus as the Son of God is doing the works of his Father.

Joh 5:16 And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.

Joh 5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.

The real Sabbath Day is when God rested from his works!

Heb 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

Heb 4:5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

Heb 4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

Heb 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

Heb 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

Adam is in the six day of creation and when he becomes complete in Christ spiritual image he will be in the seventh day of creation!

Gen 1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

Gen 1:25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Gen 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

Gen 1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

Gen 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Now, on the sixth day Adam was created in God's image but not God's express image in Jesus Christ until the sixth day ended and man comes into the seventh Day when God's work is finished.

God bless you. 🙂

No, we won't.

Understanding Genesis 1:1-2:3 as a prologue does not change anything when understanding whole scripture. The premise is faulty.

Adam was not a finished creation on the first day...
That is correct.
Adam needed a Savior even before he transgressed God's law...
That is incorrect.

Christ has many roles i creation and he was Lord long before the need for a Savior existed, long before he was foreknown as the perfect sacrifice, and long before he became Savior. That sentence is another faulty premise.
...and if Adam was perfect Adam would not have sinned because what God creates perfect stays perfect!
Adam was perfect. He was not, however, complete. Big difference. Furthermore, it has not been proven perfection would not have sinned, or that it would have succeeded in anything. Don't assume it; prove it. Do not assume that which needs to be proven; don't beg the question. This too is a faulty premise.

In each of these faults there is a better, valid, veracious, and more effective alternative found in whole scripture.

That is not proof of Adam's imperfection. It's not proof of anything other than God rested on the seventh day and even that should be understood in light of whole scripture because God rested at the end of each day AND God works in His people every single day, even the sabbath. Big fail here. This statement is a deeply flawed premise.
Now, on the sixth day Adam was created in God's image
Yep
but not God's express image in Jesus Christ until the sixth day ended and man comes into the seventh Day when God's work is finished.
Not a single word of that is correct.

No op with so many errors should nor can be deemed correct.

Josheb. you can do better than that than to wrestle with sound doctrine. You are wasting my time and I will not respond to this post! Perhaps I will see you on an other Op and we can have a rational discussion!

So the evidence is there are many flaws in this opening post, some of which have been noted, and the response is off-topic personally derogatory insinuations, a red herring, and no comment(s).

I rest my case.

Perfect is in respect to complete. In a completed form he sinned. Perfect is the faithful creator he creates from perfectly.

Adam was created perfectly according to God's design but when he sinned it showed Adam's true character! :)

Genesis Chapter One To Chapter 2:3 Is A prologue Or Summary
The sections in Genesis have colophon statements - that is to say, what we would normally think of as a header is at the end of each section, rather than the beginning.

2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens.

That describes what goes before it in Gen 1:1 - 2:3.

The next section is Gen 2:5 - 5:1:

This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him.
