I was asked the following question which gave me pause to think about this..

"Do you believe that people will still have dreams and visions from God today?"

We know what the Bible says will happen at the end..
Joel 2:28
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Acts 2:17
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

We seemed to have gotten a slew of people lately saying they have had dreams and visions from God and most have turned out to be false or worse, teaching doctrines of demons. So how will the Holy Spirit be poured out in the end times if not in dreams and visions, and how will they know if it is truly the Holy Spirit versus a unclean or evil spirit.

I will tell you what I personally think about this issue.

I think it doesn't matter.

There's no new revelation of God. Nothing further to tell people than has already been told in the Scriptures.

Anything further will, at best, be personal revelation. (For your own edification, not necessarily someone else's).

Anyone who teaches and/or preaches in the name of God is a prophet, but as Scripture says:

"But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed" Galatians 1:8

A YouTube prophet prophecying presidents isn't acting as a prophet of God. Prophets teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, or they teach another gospel. They call for true repentance, or they speak falsehoods.

But I don't have issues with the idea that people can have dreams and visions today, but it's far far more rare than some might believe, and some really is satanic.

There's a LOT of really lousy teaching, not just of Biblical principles and doctrines, but of a mindset, that defines "spiritual" according really just anybody's notion of it, and touts that notion as 'good'. I'd hazard to guess that many people consider the spiritual, anymore, something akin to Star Wars' "The Force". So, if someone has a dream, and it comes to them a little unusually, so they think it must be a vision, and therefore, maybe, prophecy, they think they are a prophet, and have no idea that if they are wrong in any one detail, that they are a false prophet.

I don't consider such a person a false prophet, unless once they are corrected, they continue touting themselves as a prophet. If one shows up here, I will correct them one time on that subject, and then they are gone if they continue in that vein, unless someone else on staff stops me.
