My wife is what is considered a fragile diabetic. Her gestational diabetes with our youngest daughter turned into permanent type 1 after she was born 32 years ago. She has lost 2 sisters to diabetes. I have almost lost her twice when she was hospitalized for diabetic ketoacidosis.
My husbands is. He tells me he is going to join the forum tomorrow but he just wants to sneak up and spy on me! LOL. I'll send him to this thread so you can commiserate.

It does run in my family. My Dr. told me my blood sugar was creeping up so I began weight-training a couple of months ago to help combat this. It is supposed to be an effective way to stave off Diabetes.
Yes. The VA has told me that mine may be related to exposure to agent orange in VN. The DMII can also be a cause of kidney failure. AO exposure has been known to kill some faster and others more slowly. Every breath and every heartbeat is a gift from God, and I give Him all the praise. It's all good! Cheers.
