What does Colossians mean when it says we have been made meet, fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light? We whom have been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of God's Son. In whom we have been redeemed, bought back from the slavery of sin through His blood even having the forgiveness, removal of the sins. In whom we now have peace through the blood of His cross. Having been redeemed, bought back from the slavery of sin. Having the removal of sins that are past. Reconciled. One with God. No longer alienated and enemies through the wicked works of our mind, of our creation but reconciled in the body of His flesh through death. To be presented holy and unblameable, unblemished by sin and therefore unreproveable in His sight. But only If we continue settled and grounded in the faith that speaks what is written above. Not Removed from the hope of the Gospel. Which is Christ in us the hope of glory. Therein Striving according to His working that works in us mightily. Our Hearts comforted and knitted together in love. Unto all riches and the full assurance of the understanding and acknowledgement of this mystery which is Christ in you. In whom are hid all wisdom and knowledge.
So as we have received Christ Jesus let us walk in Him. Rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith. Abounding in it with thanksgiving even as we were taught. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of God bodily. And we are complete in Him. Circumcised with circumcision made without hands in the putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ. Buried with Him in baptism that old man be crucified with Him the body of sins be destroyed. Hence forth we do not serve sin but become servants of righteousness. Delivered from the power of darkness. Rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith. Having risen with Him through the faith and operation of God. Who raised Him from the dead. Quickened together with Him having forgiven us all our trespasses. What does all that mean if not us living sinless now?

Why would Paul ask believers to forgive other believers in 3:13 if they were sinless ?

cf Eph 4:32, 2 Cor 2:10.

The potential is there for one way or the other. And there is not always a sin issue just because there is a quarrel (fault) between two people.

What you believe is what you get. And what is not of faith is of sin.

Agreed but in the passage its asking and commanding we forgive- and its our sins that have been forgiven to us by God and we are to do likewise to others. The passages I quoted are directly related to sin and forgiveness.

1 John 1:5-9 (WEB)
5 This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and don’t tell the truth.
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Do you know the difference between a noun and a verb? Sin in verse eight is a noun. We can be working through a sin in that we are tempted without sinning.

Outside of that this thread is on Colossians and that which was shared from it. Address that please.

Yes, of course I know the difference between and noun and a verb, but thanks for the insult (that's a sin, by the way).

Do you know the difference between sense and nonsense? "Working through a sin" doesn't mean anything; and temptation is not sin. It is not talking about being without temptation, but without sin. If you claim to have no SIN in your life, then you are a liar and the truth is not in you, as the Bible states.

You don't get to dictate how people will respond to your posts. Comparing scripture with scripture is essential, in order to combat false teaching and your teaching is definitely false.

Almost all teach we are still in our sin and will sin to the day we die. That is not righteousness through and by the faith that is in and of Christ Jesus. Sadly the church went from sacrificing animals every day to sacrificing Christ afresh and putting Him to open shame, counting the blood of the covenant for nothing, doing despite unto the Spirit of grace.

If I understand your question, it is almost a 'this is too good to be true' issue.

We have to remember that most of the apostles' defenses and explanations were directed toward the Judaizers. You can prob see some similarities to Galatians. In the case of Col, they claimed to have heard directly from the same angels that delivered the torah!

So there are two things that can help here: 1, that if a Colossian believer has set aside what the Judaizers think, they have made a huge stride. Not perfectionism, but something substantial in this context.

2, in general, NT theology has an important distinction between justification and transformation.
Justification: God's work for us in Christ in history about past debt (past sin is viewed often as debt).
Transformation: God's work in us now through the Spirit.

This is why salvation statements (like Col 1, 2) can have a very completed tense. This is true all our lives once we become a Christian and it is the devil that makes us try to think differently about our past, to defeat us. Paul can even use tangible categories (alive vs dead) but mean this debt concept (Rom 5, 6).

The Judaizers at Colossae were declaring that believers who did not practice torah in ceremony, diet and calendar were 2nd class. They were still Christians but subgrade. That is the 'philosophy' being imposed. There is an intriguing wordplay here too. Paul used 'logizo' (declare, impute, credit) all the time about justification (Romans, Galatians, Phil). Here, the Judaizers are discrediting (the upo- prefix is added) the believer in Christ--telling them they only had partial credit needed in Christ! You will find them doing so in Gal, in Acts 10:1 and 15:1.

This was a huge problem for Paul. In Gal 4:8, he explains that his groups have often been in 4 stages, and that getting them back out from the Judaizers was like birth pain all over again.
